Before lodging in this country became a desert populated only with hideous and sterile Holiday Inns and Hyatts and other garbage, there was a rich history of kooky, family-owned motels. The Ranch Motel offers the kind of idyllic and unusual experience that has been systematically eradicated from the American landscape. Here, in what seems to be the middle of nowhere, is a gift to weary travelers in the simple, elegant form nature's most essential shape: the triangle. The space is newly renovated and offers A-frame units with two beds, one lofted above the other, as if on a two-tiered, three-sided ethereal plane. The amenities and TV offerings are Spartan, but who needs all the bells and whistles when you and two friends can just spread out on two beds and a contemporary couch and not share a wall with a single other living soul? You're in the tranquility of forested mountains. Enjoy yourselves. The incredibly vaulted rooms are rented for a great price. The AC works fine. The service is excellent. If we're all lucky, future renovations will include a restored pool and lounge, and there will be postcards available in the office. Then this nation can truly be saved. Until that shining future comes, we have a guiding light to our better past: Comfortable, tapered roadside rooms. God bless the USA.

We booked this place just 30 minutes before the front desk closed (midnight). They were so kind and welcoming. The rooms themselves were super cozy and comfortable. Plus, they have the sweetest dog, Pepper, who made coming and going an even better experience. I will definitely recommend to others.

Easy to find right off I-5. Great little drive thru coffee shop a block away. The whole parking lot was well lit which made me feel safe as a single female traveler. The shower was instantly hot and the water pressure made me want to stay forever.

If you love the Mid-century Modern aesthetic then you have to stay here. The rooms are clean, the decorations cute and the building itself is a throw back in time. The staff are super friendly and accommodating with helpful recommendations on hikes plus restaurants in the area. It was an overall excellent stay!

I was so sick of the chain hotels that I decided to take a risk and stay in this retro motel. It was the best decision I've made in a very long time! Eco-friendly products in the room, excellent water pressure in the shower, and dog friendly for my little buddy. I had one of the smaller rooms and it was just perfect for one night. Because of the A-frame shape you don't share a direct wall with your neighbor. My unit was closer to the highway so I did hear a bit of highway sound but never heard my neighbors. I had an EXCELLENT night sleep.

This place is super cute, and very affordable to stay. Away from the freeway noise, no walls are shared with the neighboring units, and parking is pretty well lit and plentiful. They really saved us after last minute our motel in Eugene didn’t work out and I had to find a place to stay at 9:30pm on a Saturday night. Very kind folks at the front counter made check-in a breeze. Shower is a hair on the small side but I’m also a taller guy, and it was built in the 50’s or 60’s. Overall the room was in great shape and we liked the vintage/retro decor.

Charming Vintage Gem on Highway 5! This motel was a delightful surprise during our road trip! It has a nostalgic charm and is beautifully maintained—clean, cozy, and full of character. The rooms were spacious and thoughtfully designed, making it a fun and memorable stop for our family. Our kids absolutely loved the loft area, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, giving us a peaceful night’s sleep. Despite being right off the highway, it was impressively quiet—we didn’t hear any traffic or even our neighbors, thanks to the standalone room layout. The owner was genuinely kind and welcoming, he accommodated us over a phone call at late night, and a special shoutout goes to his wife for the homemade cookies she shared with us—they were absolutely delicious and added such a warm, personal touch to our stay. While it’s not a modern hotel with all the bells and whistles, it offers everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing break. The vintage vibe is part of its charm! We’d definitely stay here again if we’re passing through. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and restful road trip stop!

If I could give them more than five stars for hospitality, it would be 10000/5 stars. They were super nice and their rooms were very clean and comfortable. They also have the sweetest dog who loves receiving pets. They were super accommodating even though we rolled in at, like, midnight. They also have instructions for the TV channels and instant coffee in the rooms. Five stars, would stay here again.

A gem! I met one of the owners after a long night of driving. They bought one of the original A-frame motels built in the 60’s and are restoring it. Lisa was super friendly and more than accommodating. The rooms were clean and unique. Like being in a cabin. Unlike anything I’ve stayed in before. They even have chickens! Comfortable bed, cable, heating, fridge, shower and homemade cookies when I checked in. And you park directly in front of your unit which makes loading and unloading a breeze. Will stay again on my travels.

Frances, Andrew & Alma (pup) here! We stayed here last night and it was exactly what we look for when on the road. We keep getting disappointed in the hotel chains so this was so refreshing at a reasonable price. Also! We loved the 0 plastic shampoo/conditioner products provided. Seriously, ya’ll nailed the vibe! It was the little details that sealed the deal. Thank you for gifting us a charming experience
